Tucked away in Camden Lock, the Lockside Lounge isn’t the easiest place to find. But like all obscure gems, it is well worth the trouble. Relaxed atmostphere, friendly staff, and good music this is the ultimate place to wind down after work, or start your weekend. They have an impressive line up of live acts and DJ’s, and often host a free (that’s right folks FREE) barbeque on the impressive verranda. Summer or winter this is one of my favourite bars.

In the self-conscious wackiness of Camden Market, a bar as artfully understated as the Lockside Lounge makes a pleasant change. Granted, there's little to engage the eye in what is essentially one long first-floor room reminiscent of a boathouse - its walls minimally decorated with modern art, a retro clock and a smattering of flock wallpaper - but it's a decent place in which to unwind during the week (DJs turn up the volume at weekends). Draught beers include Amstel and Kronenbourg Blanc and the fridge stocks a handful of Belgian bottles, such as Mort Subite and Chimay Blue. Best in summer when drinkers and diners spill on to the canalside seating and mingle with the marketgoer. A cool drinking establishment in the midst of the Camden chaos.

The Lockside Lounge is a superb DJ bar located in Camden Lock's West Yard. It's super-stylish decor and fresh DJ sounds make this Camden gem the ideal destination. In addition to it's eclectic choice of beers and cocktails, the Lockside Lounge serves delicious nosh as well.


So trendy you want to find fault, but actually a great operation distinguished by friendly staff.
